It's an odd thing for me to not be in church today. For many years I have got up on Sunday morning and gone to church. I recorded a message from my home for the first time ever so that we could have some semblance of togetherness online, and offer encouragement to everyone. One week ago I didn't think things in the nation would progress to this point so quickly where churches are cancelling services, all major sports events are cancelled, travel is restricted, schools are closing, colleges are going online, businesses are closing, and the grocery stores are limiting hours. A National Day of Prayer has been called for by President Trump. (Click the link to read the full proclamation.)
My thoughts.. A week ago this would have been laughable. But here we are. The Bible tells us that when Jesus returns, it will be in much the same way... Suddenly! Matthew 24:42 "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming." In the verses before that, the scripture says that life will be going on as normal before mass changes suddenly come forth. There will be no time to prepare and make plans. The Bible says "now is the acceptable time" to make preparation for that time. Folks who didn't prepare for this national emergency are out of toilet paper today. Folks who don't prepare for the coming of the Lord will be in far worse condition. This situation is a 'call to arms'. Let's get our lives together by making peace with God.
Romans 10:9 "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
